Piano Instruction The only way to learn piano is with the traditional study of grand staff reading. Rhythm and note recognition, proper posture, correct fingering and sight-reading are stressed. The students also learn from the tried and true graded repertoire used for years. What makes us different is our teaching of chord symbols and chord voicing. When you play keys in a rock, pop or jazz group, the keys are an accompaniment instrument. Most times the player is reading just a sheet of timed chords. This critical inclusion opens up the door for the student to play in a band. The reading of what we call slash chords is essential for performing in some of the most exciting situations. This brief description cannot possibly fully explain what is different about us. Call for consultation and let us prepare you for more than a yearly recital. |
